Apple Picking

Join us as we venture into the Virginia countryside to pick apples to celebrate the harvest season.  We are going to Stribling Orchard in Markham, VA,  one hour from CEH.  Carpools can be arranged. 

The orchard is open rain or shine. You are welcome to arrive early (or stay until 5 PM) and picnic there. They also have a farmers market. The orchard is anticipating that there will still be apples to pick, but note that this date is towards the end of the season and there will be limited varieties available (and we'll still have a great time). Please bring your own reusable bags. Apples cost $2/pound or $20/peck. Meet at the check-in location and we'll walk to the fields together. Directions from CEH: Take I-66 West to Exit 18, Markham, Virginia. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 688 South. At the stop sign, go straight across Route 55. At the next stop sign, turn right following Route 688. Go across the railroad tracks. The orchard is the first driveway on the left (look for signs).
