Community Torah Repair Fundraiser

This event is now closed for in person repairs
but donations are still welcomed!

When: Sunday, May 1st
Time: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: Congregation Etz Hayim

The last mitzvah in the Torah says: “Write down this poem and teach it to the people of Israel; put it in their mouths, in order that this poem may be My witness with the people of Israel.” (Devarim 31:19)

We all have the unique opportunity to personally perform this mitzvah on May 1st.
Sunday morning minyan will begin at 9:30 AM and be followed at 10:00 AM by Torah repairs with our Soferet (https://alexandracasser.com).

Community members will each be given a short time slot to repair a letter in the Torah. The repair session will be followed by a brief ceremony at 12:15 PM celebrating the completion of the Torah repairs.

If you would like to help perform the repair with another household, please mark it in the space below. There will be food at the back of the sanctuary, so feel free to schmooze while waiting for your turn. We will also have a photographer on hand to memorialize the event.

Even if you cannot make it in person, please consider donating to support the upkeep of our sacred Torahs and the operation of the synagogue. Donors will be listed on our website and in the event program.

Thank you in advance for participating and for your generosity!

Registration for the in person portion of this event closes on Monday, April 25th.

You can choose more than one option.

Note that these donor levels are symbolic as actual repair with the Soferet will be limited to a single letter.
