Northern Virginia's Community Shaliach (Israeli Emissary), Dean Bagdadi, is coming to CEH to discuss key points in Jewish history that frame events and sentiment in Israel today.  Please join us for this intimate conversation. This is a very special opportunity to engage in safe conversation, ask questions and take a closer look at what's happening in Israel today through the lens of history.  Appropriate for teens and adults.
Dean has a BA in political science & business from Ben Gurion University. He is also an IDF captain in the reserves. In Israel, Dean was involved with ADL, Israel’s national and local students' unions, national political campaigns, and informal education work. He also was part of the community engagement team at the “Movement for quality government in Israel” which is a non–profit NGO that combats corruption in Israel. Dean is coming from a mixed background of both secular and traditional Jewish families with roots across the globe. He has experience in the civil society field, community engagement, informal education, and public affairs.

During his time in Northern Virginia, Dean has met with adults and teens at every synagogue in the area, spoken at October 7 commemorations and other programs, and led many Israeli-American engagement efforts. Read more about Dean here and here.
